In 2017, Christine and I found out we had a little bun in the oven.  The months following were a testament to Christine's strength and willpower.  Bubs was sitting a little high and the only way Christine could drive was to have the seat almost in a lying down position.  Even this was only manageable for 15 minutes or so before the pain was too much to bear.  Every time I knew she had to drive to the GP, or the radiologist, or to the midwife, my heart would be in my throat.  They were my future, and driving was putting them in jeopardy.  These moments really put things in perspective.

It was at this time that the idea of Bubsa was born.  My thoughts were to get rich enough that I could quit working and spend my days shuttling around pregnant women and new mums for free.  It was a little bit of a running joke at home, but the concept was one that never stopped growing in my mind.  Fast forward a few months, Isabel was born, and the idea had grown to one that could make a significant difference in the lives of mums and families.

Bubsa is our vision for making the world a better place.  One where mums and babies are healthier as they have greater access to medical care, where transport issues would otherwise make it inaccessible, unsafe, or stressful.  We have one core mission -

'We exist to support families with infants and pregnant women'

Bubsa aims to:

  • Provide a safe and stress-free means of transport - all our cars will have professionally-fitted baby seats, and our drivers will have their First-Aid Certificate.

  • Provide an option for those with none - Bubsa will provide an option for those who are not fortunate enough to have access to transport to get to medical appointments.

  • Improve the health of mums and babies - by increasing the frequency and likelihood of mums booking and going to medical appointments.
